Eric Bekoe has been tipped to excel at Berekum Chelsea

By Patrick Akoto

Berekum Chelsea winger Charles Taylor has backed Eric Bekoe to shine at the club.

The 25-year-old held his first training session with the Blues on Monday after he completed a two-year deal to the Berekum-based side last week.

The former Petrojet man is determined to silence his critics following his collapsed move to giants Asante Kotoko.

Bekoe earned a reputation for being one of the finest goal poachers in the country during his days at Kotoko and Taylor,  who is nursing a troublesome knee injury believes he can only improve in a Blues shirt.

“It is good news for the club and I am happy that he (Bekoe) has join us,” Taylor said

“I have not played with him before but we all know what he can do. His qualities are not in doubt.

“He is a good purchase for Chelsea and I believe he will be a good replacement for Emmanuel Clottey.”

Bekoe joins an array of former national team players who have signed for the 2010 Ghanaian League champions after stints abroad.
