English Conference South side Whitehawk FC have confirmed the sacking of Ghanaian player Michael Boateng and Hakeem Adelakun after they were arrested and charged in relation to match-fixing allegations.
The pair were questioned by officers from the English National Crime Agency and later charged with conspiracy to defraud after being identified with an international betting syndicate.
According to reports in the British press, as a result, the football club have dismissed the pair, who will appear at Birmingham Magistrates' Court on December 11.
The duo are the latest people to be charged in relation to an alleged illegal international betting syndicate following the arrests of Chann Sankaran and Krishna Sanjey Ganeshan.
Boateng and Adelakun, both 22, were arrested on Thursday following an investigation by the Telegraph Newspaper.
The pair from the Croydon area, are accused of conspiring to defraud bookmakers by influencing the course of football matches and placing bets.
