Ghanaian starlet Emmanuel Frimpong has admitted he will consider a move to Championship side Cardiff City or League one’s Charlton Athletic.
The powerful midfielder fell off the pecking order on his return from a cruciate knee ligament injury that kept him out of action for eight months last season.
The 19-year-old, who has not hidden his desire to play for the Black Stars, is unsure about first team play next season at the Emirates.
He says he will consider a move to Cardiff or Charlton Athletic who have made approaches to get regular play.
Frimpong said: “It was a difficult season for me with the injury and the comeback but I think I will need to look elsewhere if the current situation continues.”
“Cardiff and Charlton have made enquiries and my understanding is that they’re very serious about me. If I’m not going to get regular play at Arsenal, then what is the point in staying there? He asked
“I definitely move on and my career with Arsenal will be over.”
My boss just take your time and not rush like what your predecessors did that jeopardized their future. You have all the talent to become a great player so just take clue from your team mates Jack Wilshire!
So impatient, someone needs to tell this kid to sort himself out. He’s talented and there’s a lot of people waiting to see if he can make it to the first team, he looks a promising player. BUT if he keeps on saying stuff like he’ll leave Arsenal before he’s even had a go to get into the first team then he is an arrogant little twit that needs to shape up quick, otherwise he may only ever play for Charlton. Getting tough about Arsenal won’t endear him to the fans that’s for sure. Maybe he needs to go on loan before he becomes a prima donna of the worst kind.
he misses almost the entire season due to injury after being largely involved in the Emirates Cup, then bemoans a lack of opportunities? DERP.
Like Arseblog said, he was injured all season and the season now over… What do you want us to do about it?
@asasd – This isn’t a DERP moment. I believe what the boy is talking about is a loan move, not a permanent move to the lower leagues. It could do wonders for his fitness and form.
Next time HERP before you DERP!
“I definitely move on and my career with Arsenal will be over.”
That does not sound like a “loan move”..
Another David Bentley in the making ?
Very poor reporting here, chopped up a valid interview and changed the sentetnces
Wenger is going to rest me for this weekend so now’s the chance for young Emu to show how much he’s worth!
