Ghana international and former Arsenal midfielder Emmanuel Frimpong has urged Gunners coach Arsene Wenger to play Lukas Podolski.

The ex-Wolves loanee is currently playing for Russian side FC Ufa, but still keeps a close eye on his old club and teammates.

He stated on Twitter yesterday he wanted to see the German get chances, which have been a rarity this season.

Podolski has been strongly linked with a move to Inter Milan in recent days and has openly admitted he is unsettled at his lack of football.

Arsene Wenger however believes him to be an important squad player, even though he was once again an unused substitute against QPR.

Each time it appears the German has earned more chances, Wenger refuses to cave in, with the forward playing only 17 minutes since his two goal showing against Galatasaray at the beginning of the month.

He has more goals - three - than he does starts this season of which he has only two, but chances could be on the horizon.

With Olivier Giroud suspended for three games, Podolski may see the upcoming games versus West Ham and Southampton the final test of whether he has a future at Arsenal, or whether he needs to fight for a move away from the club in January.
