Emmanuel Frimpong says he is ready to put up a good showcase after returning to the Ghana squad for Next Tuesday’s 2014 World Cup play off first leg qualifier against Egypt.
The 21-year-old was handed his first call-up in March and made his debut in the win over Sudan in the World Cup qualifiers.
But a knee injury sidelined him for three months and that saw him miss June’s double-header against Sudan and Lesotho.
Frimpong will be seeking to play his first competitive match since regaining fitness.
“Playing for your country is a big opportunity and obviously it is important I get called up again,” Frimpong said.
“The last game of last season when I was with Fulham on loan I got a knee injury and I was out for three months and obviously that was a setback but once I have recovered now.
“I’m happy to be back in the team with all the big name players like Michael Essien, Kevin Boateng, Dede and Muntari so I’m just here to learn from them and hopefully play with them
