Emmanuel Clottey has hit a rich vein of form in the CAF Champions League
Renowned football administrator Alhaji Karim Gruzah claims he is puzzled by the striking prowess of Berekum Chelsea hitman Emmanuel Clottey.
Clottey hogged the headlines on Sunday when he scored two goals in the club’s 2-2 draw with TP Mazembe in Lubumbashi.
He is the competition’s top scorer with 11 goals from five matches; two away from equalling Stephen Worgu’s 13 goals in the 2007 campaign.
Gruzah, who owns second-tier side King Faisal Football Club, told Sunyani-based Storm FM:
“Ghana is not well known for producing strikers but he (Clottey) is from another place.
“I watched him several times in the league and I see he is very good but in the Champions League he is doing very strange things and his second goal yesterday was fantastic.
“For now, he is the best striker in Africa and no one can deny that because he is doing it everywhere.”
The 24-year-old has targeted to score 18 goals in this year’s competition.

Foolish. the best striker in africa is emanuel mayuka. african champion and golden boot winner.
Mayuka??? who is that? The funniest joke i ever head. Sounds like musician to me.Mayuka has never scored more than three goals in any competition.Google him, his profile is empty.
u are a fool to say foolish to someone who can be your father, kwasia ,stupid i dnt know where these zambians are coming from on these site at all,u fool, villager
ZAMBIA AINT SHIT. GTFOH! WHEN WE CATCH U IN GH, U WILL WISH U WERE NEVER A ZAMBIAN, JUST WAIT.
CLOTTEY IS ALMOST 40. HE IS JUST CONFIDENT AND PICKING HIS SPOTS. THE OTHER BEREKUM CHELSEA PLAYERS MUST STEP UP, AND IN A BIG WAY IF THEY ARE TO BEAT AHLY. THE DEFENSE ALSO NEES WORK.
is that how you behave in ur country zambia? like bush men? insulting adults on social networks? This time you’ve gone too far. King of zambia or whatever you are pls learn to be civilize. THis is a civilized platform for civilized people.
I wish Coach Appiah will come up with a solid line up and some good strikers like Gyan, Clottey, Warris, so the Zambian invasion will stop once and for all. We need an ‘A’ plus line-up and good coaching to put these Zambians where they belong in the ranking table.
Appiah says he does not believe in the ranking table and that is why he is loosing to the likes of Zambia thwice in less than 1 year. Unbelievable!
Bring on the big guns, Essien, Appiah, John Mensah. Even if they do not play 60 minutes or start the game they will be good for team leadership, morale and discipline.
Clottey deserves praises bcos of his effort on da on goin caf champ…
Clottey is proving he can score in any game but unfortunately his age will not warrant a look in from top clubs in Europe. He is peaking at an old age but anyways kudos for what he is doing. His stats are so so impressive.
On a lighter note,i want to know if Alhaji Gruzah actually spoke in English and said all those comments he has been quoted.
GSN is always late to deliver. There u have the squad to play China come 15 August. Want the source? Keep depending on GSN n late is what u’l have.

are u still putting afful in there?..at the expenseof kissi boateng? aaaaba!
Clottey is the best.see how he turned Sunzu, the TP defender from Zambia, inside out before scoring the 2nd goal.He will repeat that when he meets him again in the WC qualify.Kalaba was handled very well by Richard Kissi-Boateng so he was substituted.
He must protect himself against the “juju” of Gyan against other strikers.
Please such comments kill unite among players. What evidence do you have about Gyan using juju?
U these foolish zambians shld shut up ya stincken smelly toothless mouth.can u ppl compare yaself to ghana.go to ya history books and check.haw many titles have ur country and clubs won in africa?haw many great players have u produced.tell me any better club in zambia dat has won da champions leaque,ma fellow ghanaians dnt mind these stupid zambians.
In football u can’t say that u dont need a player bcos of his bhavier outside de picth whn in fact he’s a key plyer in de team, bcos in a tim 1 plyer can make a huge deferent asumin clotey is not in de team, sum wil say there wil be a replacemnt but who,no wonder in a year where kotoko, hearts n others do not hv a single play maker they suferd, de time of, eg.eric beku3,dan quay, eric gau, kodjo poku.chals taylor, alex asamuah, don bortey name them,no wonder de FA sometims travel b cos of 1 plyer.
WEDA A GHANAIAN OR ZAMBIAN WE RE ALL EQUAL&WERE CREATED BY DE SAME GOD.IF FOOTBAL SEPARATES US LET US UNITE IN DE LORD
