Dutch-born Ghanaian attacker Elvis Manu says he cherishes his debut Eredivisie goal which came double in Feyenoord's 2-1 win over bottom-placed Heracles Almelo on Saturday.

Manu, 21, had gone into the game at the Stadion Feijenoord without a league goal though he had scored twice in the Uefa Europa League and assisted as many as eight goals in all competitions.

But he grabbed his first league goals of season in fashion, scoring twice against to lift Feyenoord to their fourth straight league win.

And, he has revealed his team-mate, El Ahmadi, told him he was going to score and he did.

"Yes it is right, El Ahmadi told me yesterday:  You are you going to score goals in the League. Then I scored two today," Manu told Dutch television station RTV Rijnmond after the game.

"Yes it went well. I can't complain, I want to play as much as possible and I want to draw this line. You want to play first play and then score important goals," he added.

Feyenoord are working around the clock to tie him down to a new contract as his current contract runs out in the summer.

Manager Fred Rutten has claimed the attacker is satisfied with the new contract proposals and will ink a new deal soon.
