AC Milan legend Jon Dahl Tomasson has revealed he is a big fan of Dutch-born Ghanaian attacker Elvis Manu who is making waves in Europe.

The former Denmark captain who is manager at Dutch side Roda JC Kerkrade last managed the 21-year-old when he was assistant trainer at Excelsior Rotterdam when Feyenoord loaned him out to them two seasons ago.

Manu's form for Feyenoord in the Uefa Europa League has drew raving reviews from soccer pundits across Europe but Tomasson is not surprised by the form of the youngster.

"I was assistant coach at Excelsior when he came there from Feyenoord on a one year loan. I became a big fan of him from the very first day I saw him," he said.

"At Excelsior he really had to learn to behave as he received three red cards in a season, but it has been a good school. Elvis has now been transformed and changed quickly, much better than two years ago.

He is an opportunist, has speed, strength and scoring ability. He is one of the best young strikers in Europe now."
