Elmina Sharks coach Kobina Amissah has denied he ordered his players to boycott their MTN FA Cup match against Hearts of Oak over a controversial penalty decision.

Referee Dan Dogbetor pointed to the spot after he was convinced Thomas Abbey had been fouled in the box.

His decision was hotly disputed by the players and play was held up for some minutes.

Amissah, who called his players to the technical area, denies he told them to walk out from the field.

“All I did was to call my players to come to the touchline so I calm tempers. I spoke to them and asked them to continue and that was what happened," the former Berekum Chelsea coach told GHANASoccernet.com

“I’m shocked to read that I rather wanted the players to walk out. I advised them to keep their cool before the referee was not on our side.”
