Elche to observe minute of silence for former player Mubarak Wakaso's late son

The ultra fans of Elche say there will be a minute of silence observed during Saturday’s league match against Rayo Vallecano to mark the death of the son of former player Mubarak Wakaso.

The Ghana midfielder buried his four-month old baby, Mubarak Wakaso Jnr, last Thursday after he passed away the same day in Tamale, the Northern Regional capital.

The Jove Elx confirmed this in a statement and regretted why the club did not do it last week when they hosted Sevilla in the Primera Division but his former clubs Villarreal and Espanyol did it.

Wakaso played for Elche in the second-tier league between 2008 and 2011 and made 58 appearances.
