El Eulma coach Azzedine Aït Djoud hopes to ‘write football history’ when his side comes up against one of the ‘greatest’ clubs on the continent in the 1/16th stage of the CAF Champions League this weekend.

The Algerian side host the first leg at home on Saturday, hoping to record a favourable win to make the reverse fixture a mere formality.

El Eulma are in confident mood ahead of the fixture after crushing Ethiopian side St George in the preliminary round while Kotoko had a walk-over after East End Lions pulled out.

Confidence is low in the Ghanaian camp after a difficult start in the Ghana Premier League.

But the Algerian trainer is refusing to write the Porcupine Warriors off and says they are eager to write another page in the club’s football history.

“It will be very important to stick together to not cash a killer goal that could, on arrival, weigh heavily in the balance,

He added: “The attack is the best way to defend and, believe me, the guys are determined to not giving the opportunity to the keeper of the Asante to be unemployed.”
