Egypt's qualification chances for World Cup 'almost impossible' - Ex Morocco star Madjer
Ghana take a commanding 6-1 lead into the second-leg cash

Morocco legend Rabah Madjer says Egypt’s mission of overturning the massive deficit against Ghana - a team he describes as currently the best on the continent - in the World Cup playoff is ‘almost impossible’.

The Pharaohs are in need of a football miracle to reverse a 6-1 deficit suffered against the Black Stars in the first leg of the playoff tie.

Egypt however remain hopeful of their slim chances of qualifying for their first World Cup finals since 1990.

But ex Morocco star Madjer who is now a television pundit with Aljazeera believes the task proving too much of a mountain for the Pharaohs to sum mount.

“We can talk about a surprise but by the magnitude of the score seems unthinkable,” he said.

“Egypt though remains one of the great football teams on the continent.

“They have a good team but the mission is almost impossible. Beating Ghana, currently the best team on the continent 5-0 is not obvious.

“Even if they score two or three goals, it will be a big performance.”

The Black Stars will breeze into Cairo on Monday after completing their preparations in Istanbul for the game on Tuesday.
