Egypt have confirmed experienced Hosny Abd Rabo is fit to face Ghana in their crucial 2014 World Cup qualifying play-off after recovering from injury.
The 28-year-old Al Nassr defensive midfielder picked a knock during training on Thursday and there were doubts cast over his availability for the game.
But the Pharaohs team doctor Tarek Soliman has confirmed scans showed Rabo’s injury is not serious enough to rule him out of the Ghana game.
“Hosny’s injury is not serious . He felt a pain in his leg on Thursday during training but the scan has revealed that the injury is not that bad. Egypt’s doctor Tarek Soliman told supersport.com.
Rabo has been capped 93 times by Egypt and has bagged 15 goals for the North African giants and assistant trainer Diaa El Sayed believes his availability for the Pharaohs will be crucial.
“Abd Rabo is a very important player in our squad , and we will depend on him against Ghana .He knows how to play these type of matches.”
Egypt are in the hunt for a favourable score-line in the first-leg in Kumasi to better their chances of qualifying to the Brazil 2014 tournament.
