Egypt striker Mohammed Salah admits they will need a miracle to qualify to the 2014 after suffering an embarrassing 6-1 defeat in Ghana.

The Pharaohs failed to find answers to the onslaught from the Black Stars after being battered at the Baba Yara stadium in Kumasi.

Bob Bradley’s men must now conjure some form of magic to score five unanswered goalsix in the retrun fixture on November 19 in Cairo to qualify to the World Cup at the expense of the Ghanaians.

But the FC Basel forward admits their World Cup hopes has virtually been dashed.

"We came for at least a draw, and it didn't work out. What we have to do now is to be stronger than what we did [on Tuesday] and focus on the second game," he is quoted by Football411.

"We need some miracles to qualify, because it seems for now we cannot go to the World Cup in Brazil."

"It's just a shame after what all our fans have been through back home, we wanted to win and appease them.

“People are hurt in Egypt and we wanted to use the game to give them something. We couldn't do that we have failed the people in our country and it’s sad.”

A brace from star striker Asamoah Gyan and others from in-form Abdul Majeed Waris, Sulley Muntari and Christian Atsu condemned the Egyptians to their worst defeat on the continent.
