The Egyptian Football Association is racing against time to find an opponent for the Pharaohs to prepare for next month’s World Cup playoff first leg against Ghana.
The seven-time African had planned to play Sierra Leone on 28 September but the Leone Stars pulled out citing security concerns.
Egypt’s home based stars need preparatory matches to sharpen their arsenals due to the absence of a league in the country.
“Coach Bradley asked the EFA to move quickly and find a replacement team for Sierra Leone who backed out from playing a friendly against Egypt,” a technical staff member told Al-Ahram Arabic news website.
“Bradley also confirmed that the Egypt local based players need more friendlies before the Ghana game,” the source added.
