Egypt claim friendly with Ghana on 13 January

Egypt assistant coach Diaa Al Sayed claims the Pharaohs will play the Black Stars on 13 January in Abu Dhabi in a friendly.

But the Ghana Football Association confirmed last week they have agreed to play Nations Cup finalists Tunisia at the same venue.

A source at the Ghana FA told GHANASoccernet.com they are unaware of this claim by the Pharaoh official.

Egypt failed to qualify for next January's Africa Cup of Nations finals in South Africa but want to stay active for the 2014 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.

"The technical staff has already accepted to play against Cote d' Ivoire and they have now accepted to play against Ghana as well," Diaa Al Sayed told supersport.com.

"We will play against Cote d’ Ivoire on January 10 and against Ghana on January 13 in Abu Dhabi.

"Ghana and Cote d’ Ivoire will prepare us well for our next match against Zimbabwe in March.''
