Egypt are planning to camp in the United Arab Emirates to prepare for the visit to Ghana for the 2014 World Cup qualifying playoffs clash against the Black Stars next month, GHANAsoccernet.com can reveal.
The Pharaohs are seeking to camp in Dubai to be able to acclimatize to the hot weather conditions they expect when they travel to the West African country for the match next month.
Egypt are expected to camp in Dubai for five days before heading to Ghana for the first-leg match most likely to be played in Kumasi.
Ghana will host the Pharaohs in the first-leg of the decisive playoffs which will decide which country qualifies for next year’s tournament in Brazil.
Egypt’s England-based defender Ahmed Elmohamady has revealed that the Egypt could head to Dubai for a five-day training camp before flying to Accra for the opening match.
“There’s a suggestion that we might come to Dubai on the 9th or 10th of October for a few days before we head to Ghana,” Ahmed Elmohamady said.
The idea is to prepare in some tough weather conditions, similar to what we’ll experience in Ghana,” he explained.
The first leg will be played in Ghana between October 11-15 while the second leg heads to Egypt between November 15-19.
The winner over the two legs will qualify for the tournament in Brazil.
