Edubiase gross US$ 1,800 from gates in Confederation Cup

New Edubiase United grossed 3,300 Ghana cedis (US$ 1,800) from the gates in their CAF Confederation Cup match played at the Accra Sports Stadium last Sunday.

That amount is more than 500 percent what they realize when they play their Ghana Premier League home matches at the Gyemfi’s Park.

The Bekwai-based team moved their continental matches to the capital to cut down cost and that seems to be a good idea for now.

The debutants beat Congolese side Diable Noirs 1-0 on their debut in Africa despite creating a lot of scoring chances.

Edubiase spent close to US$ 65,000 in hosting the preliminary round first leg qualifier.

The return leg will be played in Brazzavile in a fortnight.
