New Edubiase United grossed 3,300 Ghana cedis (US$ 1,800) from the gates in their CAF Confederation Cup match played at the Accra Sports Stadium last Sunday.

That amount is more than 500 percent what they realize when they play their Ghana Premier League home matches at the Gyemfi’s Park.

The Bekwai-based team moved their continental matches to the capital to cut down cost and that seems to be a good idea for now.

The debutants beat Congolese side Diable Noirs 1-0 on their debut in Africa despite creating a lot of scoring chances.

Edubiase spent close to US$ 65,000 in hosting the preliminary round first leg qualifier.

The return leg will be played in Brazzavile in a fortnight.

bad business. spend 65,000 and recoup 1,800 a loss of 63,200.

Aside pride n prestige, it is financially useless to play in Africa C.L. Even if u win the cl, the prize money is $1.5million, whiles ur cost would be around $5million. Are u surprised to noe dat south african clubs don’t play in d cl? As far this useless deadwood, ishit hayafool is in power for the past 20 or so years, african football will continue to be a jock n a stupid investment . Chelsea got $100 million for winning the uefa cl, if u care to know. Why not even 10% of dat? Hayafool, want another term in office? when are u dying?… I pity kotoko n edubiase…
