Ghanaian international midfielder Kwame Quansah has been honoured by Dutch side Heracles Almelo for making 250 league appearances for the club in the Eredivisie.

Quansah, who turns 30 in three days time, was decorated with honours by Heracles President John Smith after their 5-1 trouncing of Roda JC during the weekend.

The 250 milestone was achieved in Heracles' 4-0 reserve at PSV Eindhoven in early November.

The box-to-box midfielder joined Heracles from Swedish giants AIK Stockholm in the 2004/05 and has scored 26 goals.

He was appointed captain of the club last season but relinquished the role to focus on football.

Quansah has also had stints with giants Ajax Amsterdam and Germinal Beerschot.
