Ducth side AZ Alkmaar have been locked in negotiations with Russian Premier League side Spartak Moscow to sign Ghana international Abdul Majeed Waris, GHANAsoccernet.com can confirm.

Spartak Moscow are ready to allow the former Swedish Allsvenskan Golden Shoe Winner leave the club in search of more playing time but will only allow him to leave on loan.

But AZ want to buy him on an outright deal.

Waris has made just 11 appearances and scored once for the Reds since moving to the club in November 2012 from Swedish side BK Hacken.

And, with the 2014 World Cup fast approaching, the prolific scorer wants to move where he can secure regular playing time.

The 22-year-old has expressed interest in playing in the Eredivisie and this has alerted Alkmaar to quickly negotiate for the signature of the striker.

However time is running out for Alkmaar as the Black Stars striker has already travelled to France ahead of a loan to the Ligue 1.

Sochaux, Lille and Lorient have all beenmentioned as likely destinations for Waris who contributed three goals to Ghana's 2014 World Cup qualifying campaign.
