A leading supporter of Hearts of Oak Maxwell Asabre has revealed that the sacking of David Duncan is the cause of their inconsistent displays in the First Capital Plus Premier League.

The club’s board surprisingly terminated Duncan’s contract in November last year after seven rounds of matches.

Club legend Mohammed Polo was appointed as his successor but the ex-international has been far from impressive.

He was on the touchline when Hearts got eliminated by second-tier side Bibiani Gold Stars.

This set the tone for other unacceptable results at the hands of Wa All Stars, Medeama and Heart of Lions.

“The problems of Hearts are all born from the sacking of David Duncan,” Asabre told Spice FM”s Kuntu Blankson.

“Duncan was building a team for the future and did not see his sacking coming.

“Just look at the position at which he took the club around 14th position and league table and carried the team through within a short period of time.

“When he assumed office his match was against Kotoko and he came out with flying colours.

“That has caused us and am afraid it will be so for long time if management do not take care, Dunacan was the right man for the job he used to go to Jones Attuquayfio for advices and wanted to transform the team to an African power house.

“And made sure we the supporters were always part of decision making but now what do we see.

“You will be there and you will see that they have brought in footballer and say he plays for Hearts not any player can play for Hearts no.”
