Asante Kotoko’s African Cup Committee chairman Alhaji Abu Lamine has hailed the impact made by new coach David Duncan even before he officially takes over.

The 51-year-old is expected to sign a two-year contract on Wednesday and will be unveiled as Kotoko’s new head coach a day after.

Duncan joined the team for their CAF Champions League game away to MC El Eulma as an ‘observer’ where the Ghanaian giants secured a goalless draw in Algeria.

Kotoko’s African Cup committee chief is however already seeing the immense impact being made by the former Hearts of Oak trainer even before he officially joins the club.

“We have seen the initial effect of news of his appointment,” Alhaji Lamine told Angel FM.

“The mentality of the players have changed and we are very confident that coach Duncan will be a hit at Kotoko.”

Duncan will be returning to active coaching since he was sacked by Hearts of Oak in November 2013.
