Don't judge me by my appearance - Affum

Edward Affum says his dread-lock appearance should not inform a negative perception of himself as a professional footballer.

The Hearts of Oak striker is looking to take his improved pre-season form into the new campaign.

Affum was again on target for Hearts in the pre-season win over Liberty Professionals over the weekend.

He is however concerned with persistent public ‘misconception’ out there due to his Rastafarian appearance.

“People see you and they think you take drugs because you are wearing a dreadlocks,” he told Kumasi-based Fox FM.

“I don’t spoke wee (Indian hemp). I don’t do all the bad things that people think I do because of my appearance.”

This syndrome of misconception is very common in the sports and entertainment industries – with individuals with wild appearance often the victims.
