A host of distinguished personalities are expected in the country ahead of the commissioning of Ghana’s first Fifa Football for Hope Project.
The event which takes place in Cape Coast will see officials from world football governing body Fifa, a delegation from Caf, members of the Ghana FA, traditional rulers and other distinguished personalities.
Fifa Director responsible for West Africa Sampson Kablan, Ian and Lucy Mills of Streetfootball World (Germany and South Africa), Ghana FA boss Kwasi Nyantakyi, a delegation from Caf led by Ben Koufie and Chief of Oguaaman Osabarima Kwesi Attah IV are some of the confirmed dignitaries in attendance.
The Football for Hope project is an off-shoot initiative of Fifa following the successful hosting of the 2010 World Cup in South Africa designed to aid needy children through football and education.
It is part of a plan to leave a lasting legacy for Africa after delivering the most profitable Mundial in World Cup history.
An ultra-modern artificial pitch, an office and ICT block with classrooms are part of the facilities to be commissioned on Saturday.
The center have already produced several talents for Ghana including the current leading striker of the female U-20 team (the Black Princesses) Florence Dadson.
