Derek Boateng silenced his critics on Saturday with an impressive showing for Fulham in his second outing since joining the English Premier club in the summer.
The Ghana international was a second-half substitute for the Cottagers as they run out 1-0 winners over Stoke but his performance when he came on delighted his fans.
Boateng took over from Karagounis in the 60th minute and his hardworking performance and passing ability will assure coach Martin Jol of the Ghanaian’s potential.
The midfielder started in the opening day win at Sunderland and was substituted, but had not played since that match which sparked fears for his future at Fulham.
The Ghanaian was not even amongst the substitutes in some of the matches in the wake of his first appearance in the Premier League.
Coach Jol piled pressure on the summer signing last week when he said Boateng missing out for Fulham because of his lack of versatility.
The Ghana midfielder joined on a free transfer after FIFA approved his exit from Ukrainian club Dnipro.
