Ghana midfielder Derek Boateng has retained his place in the Fulham first team squad for their Premier League game with Hull City on Saturday afternoon, GHANAsoccernet.com can confirm. 

Fulham manager Rene Meulensteen has named the 30-year-old among the substitutes as the Cottagers seek a positive result with a second straight away as they play Hull at the Kingston Communications Stadium.

Boateng had to spend some time on the sidelines after being axed from the Fulham team after their 2-1 home loss to Tottenham Hotspur in early December.

The former Getafe midfielder managed to get back into the team in their away victory over Norwich City on Boxing Day and has retained his place in the team for the Hull clash.

Boateng has failed to march the competition in the Fulham midfield which is consisted of Steve Sidwell and Scott Parker but with the 2014 World Cup approaching, Boateng appears determined to fight for a place at the club.

Reports in Ghana suggested he could Craven Cottage to brighten his chances of making the Ghana World Cup squad.
