Derek Asamoah: Ghanaian attacker's strike not enough to save Carlisle United in League Two
Derek Asamoah scored for Carlisle United

Veteran Ghanaian attacker Derek Asamoah scored an early opening goal for Carlisle United but they suffered a 4-2 defeat against struggling Dagenham & Red. on Saturday.

Asamoah raced Carlisle into the lead with a brilliant 16th minute strike but the visitors sat back and allowed their host to equalise and beat them.

Asamoah has hit a fine scoring form since joining the League Two side in October and has netted six times in nine games, earning praises from his team-mates and coaches.
