Ghana U20 coach Sellas Tetteh is confident his side will still qualify for the African Youth Championships despite the disappointing barren draw with Gabon on Sunday.

The Black Satellites failed to make the several chances they created count before their expectant home fans in the first leg of the ultimate qualifier at the Accra Sports Stadium.

The team will now need to avoid defeat at all cost or secure a scoring draw in the return encounter in order to go through.

Many have started writing off the Black Satellites due to their inability to beat the Gabonese despite enjoying all the support and privileges of a home side.

But coach Sellas Tetteh believes his team is good enough to turn things around though admitting the 0-0 draw was not the result he wanted.

“It was a very difficult game and it is what we expected,” he told GHANAsoccernet.com.

“0-0 is not the result we wanted, I would have wished that we had banged in the goals but again in ties like these you don’t necessarily need a wide margin to go through.”
