Former Asante Kotoko defender Yaw Frimpong says he has got his boots laced and ready for his new challenged at TP Mazembe.

Frimpong, 26, completed a five-year move to the Lubumbashi-based club from Ghanaian champions Asante Kotoko in December.

Mazembe, four time title winners of the Caf Champions, are preparing for yet another continental campaign and have reinforced their squad with strong new acquisitions.

However Frimpong, a former Fetteh Feyenoord Academy graduate, who has had a stint with Ivorian giants ASEC Mimosas believes he can stake a claim in Lamine N'Diaye's side.

"I'm not Afraid of competition here. I will work hard and fight for my place in the team," he told the club's official website.

The former Helsingborg triallist claims Mazembe are unexampled in sub-Saharan Africa.

"TP Mazmebe are peerless in sub-Saharan Africa because of the standard they have set here and I feel very proud to be part of the team now.
