Hearts of Oak players celebrating a goal
David Duncan recorded his first win as Hearts coach after beating Liberty Professionals 2-0 at the Accra Sports Stadium on Sunday.
Two second half goals from from Robin Gnagne and Ashitey Ollenu were enough to bag the points.
Ivorian defender Gnagne sent goalkeeper Daniel Agyei the wrong way in the 70th minute from the spot for the opener.
It was the centre-back’s debut Ghana Premier League goal.
Four minutes later, Ollenu finished off Liberty when he planted the ball into the net after Mahatma Otoo laid the ball through the defences of the visitors.
The win, Hearts of Oak’s third of the season, ensured the Phobians moved to eighth on the league table.
