David Duncan not getting carried away after first Hearts win

Posted On Monday, 26th November 2012

David Duncan won his first game as Hearts coach

David Duncan was overjoyed with his debut win as Hearts coach after his side beat Liberty Professionals 2-0 in Accra but says he is not getting carried away.

Two second half goals handed the Phobians victory against their city rivals at the Accra Sports stadium.

Even after a performance half that left fans with fingernails chewed to the quick, and celebrating a triumph over the scientific soccer lads that looked far from certain, the former Ashantigold and Great Olympics has resisted the temptation to slip into hyperbole.

“It was necessary we won the game and I am happy about the performance but there is lot of work to be done,” Duncan said

“We dictated the pace well but like I said we’re not getting carried away.

“There are few areas with must look at and we will continue to work hard at the training ground.

The win was Hearts third of the season and sees them move to eight on the table.

It sounds so good to hear coach Duncun is keeping his cool about the win knowing the enormity of work to be done. This is the mark of a matured mind who is determined to succeed with the Oak Tree. Duncun will surely become Accra Hearts Of Oak’s next coaching Legend after the only Sir Cecil Jones Atuqyafio. Kudos coach Duncun and your charges not forgetting The Board,Management and we the supporters . Long Live Accra Hearts Of Oak.
