Newly installed Kotoko coach David Duncan has vigorously defended his trophyless record insisting he’s not a specialist in failure.
The 51-year-old is hugely regarded in the West African country for his personality but has not won any major silverware in his 15-year coaching career.
Duncan will be hoping to end the trophy drought after signing a two-year deal with the Ghanaian champions.
The former Hearts trainer has a perfect opportunity to win a silverware against a side which can match his ambitions as compared to previous clubs which lacked the motivation to win the ultimate.
He parried criticism he’s a specialist in failure despite his popularity.
“I am not noted for winning trophies because I mostly handle clubs that are noted for aiming at the league or FA Cup.†He told reporters at his unveiling ceremony on Thursday.
He’s had stints with Olympics, Hasaacas, Ashantigold, Hearts of Oak and South African side Free State Stars.
