David Addy going through pre-season training with Porto before suffering injury
By Ameenu Shardow
Ghana defender David Addy has suffered a thigh injury during FC Porto’s pre-season tour of Switzerland, GHANAsoccernet.com can exclusively reveal.
The injury comes as a massive blow for the 22-year-old who returned to the Portuguese champions at the end of the last campaign after impressing on loan at Greek club Panetolikos.
The left-back was making steady progress in Porto’s pre-season exercises and looked good to claim a regular spot in Vitor Pereira’s team for the coming season.
It is readily unknown how long the former Randers FC player will be out but will certainly miss Wednesday’s pre-season friendly with Servette.
Addy’s injury also has a negative bearing on the Black Stars as Ghana prepares to take on Malawi in the final qualifier for the 2013 Nations Cup in September.
Many have craved for his inclusion into the Black Stars following a highly successful stint in the Greek League where he featured 25 times and scored three goals from the left-back position.
Get well soon dude
WISH U A SPEEDY RECOVERY, GHANA NEEDS U. WE CANT TRUST LEE ADDY AND THAT INEXPERIENCE MASAWUDU ALHASSAN CANT GIVE A DECENT CROSS.
