David Addy axed from Porto sqaud for next season

Posted On Wednesday, 8th August 2012

David Addy joined for FC Porto in January 2010

Ghana defender David Addy has been excluded from FC Porto’s official 29-man squad for the upcoming season.

The left-back returned to the Estadio do Dragao this summer after completing a season’s long loan deal at Greek top-flight side Panatelikos.

Porto coach Victor Pereira has a lot of options for the 20-year-old and can do without his services.

Addy could be loaned out again or transferred permanently to another club.

He never had an opportunity to impress at Porto since moving in January 2010 from Danish side Randers.

Addy was a member of the 2009 Ghana Under-20 team that won the historic FIFA World Youth Cup in Egypt.

best left back for ghana ,only he needs to be consistent

  2. GH FUO, THINK BIG!!! says:

HE NEEDS MORE PLAYNG TIME. HE PLAYED WELL IN GREECE SO WHY DID PORTO LEAVE HIM OFF? THEY DONT WANT 2 GH FUO ON THE SQUAD OR WAT? JUST SELL HIM THEN N STOP THE FOOLISHNESS

  3. Young says:

Giving too many African players exposure at the high level means more pressure and fear for European countries whenever we encounter them on international level. So….. you know what follows..

  4. Gem says:

Man, neva give up for dat is not è end of è world. Go n try ur luck else where.

  5. Paapa says:

He’s welcome back home. He can retry his luck with kotoko. After all he never graduated from the soccer university b4 he left. No wonder.

  6. champions online says:

this man lost it out to Emmanuel Mbola a zambian left footed defender. editor report the zambia vs zimbabwe game which was playd yestaday.

  7. Champions on line says:

He lost it to a young zambian by the name of Emmanuel Mbola. Minwhile, mr editor why are you not reporting the champions of africa vs zimbabwe played yestaday?

  8. D light says:

Emmanuel Mbola did not even make the pre-season list. The presence of Alvaro perriera & Jnr MAICON was the reason he cldn’t make the final list. But that doesn’t mean he is a bad player. He sld follow the footsteps of Yartey- Holland, switzerland n france leagues are options for a loan or a permanent spells.

  9. Frank Manu says:

@ champions, get your facts right, your mbola is not the level of David addy, addy made the pre season with fcporto while mbola was with the FC Porto B. He is even the second choice for FC Porto team B so stop talking shit, I am here in Portugal so I know the facts my Portuguese colleagues were even wondering why. My country man Addy is a good player i don’t know why Porto do this. However it is time he tries his luck elsewhere in Europe. I also believe his exclusion from the Ghana squad has caused this

    • mike says:

so what is your point? Even if you are in portugal i can tell you that alvaro perrira from uruguay is useless. Emmanuel Mbola has been rated as the best left back under the age of 23 by some european magazines. He is the second youngest player to ever play at an afcon in 2010 at 16. All this nonsence at Porto is just temporal Mbola will eventually break into the big european scene. Even if he leaves Porto another european giant will sign him hes only 19 and still learning. By 20 he will be a champion.

      • Ghanaman says:

Mike you are obviously Zambian. To call Alvaro Pierra useless shows you don’t understand the game.

M-Bola… bola means trash in the native language here… Is exactly that… Bola!! Stop trolling!!!

Quoting random articles on a site means nothing. A few years ago some of those sites would have been calling Freddy Adu the next Messi…

David Addy is a good player and will get another club.
