Midfielder Daniel Nii Adjei has told his former club Asante Kotoko they have a lot of catching to do if they are to compete for continental titles.

Adjei left Kotoko in 2012 after close to eight seasons at the club and joined the Ravens for international exposure.

After spending two years at the Lubumbashi-based side have been able to play in the money zones of the CAF Champions League and Confederation Cup since the turn of the New Millennium.

“Kotoko can never match TP Mazembe in anything,” Adjei told Sportscrusader.com

“Of course Kotoko is a big club in Ghana and has history in Africa, but for now, we can’t compare the two teams.

“Look, we are talking about a club that has its own stadium, a club that has its own clinic, gym center and a shopping center. TP Mazembe has about five training pitches, an ultra modern accommodation facility for players, and we are also paid well. So for now, Kotoko can never be compared to TP Mazembe.

“When it comes to the Champions League, they have won it on four occasions, 1967, 1968, 2009 and 2010. My brother, don’t even compare. TP Mazembe is far, far, far ahead of Asante Kotoko.”
