Daniel Nii Adjei marked his debut for the Black Stars against Malawi

By Patrick Akoto

Midfielder Daniel Nii Adjei marked his debut for the Black Stars in their 1-0 win over Malawi in a 2013 African Cup of Nations qualifier.

The Asante Kotoko midfielder replaced Andre Ayew in the second half and played his part to ensure the West African heavyweights held on to win against The Flames to book a seat at next year’s African Cup of Nations in South Africa.

The Black Stars put up a tactical display against a tough-tackling Malawian side who had the lions share of ball possession.

The TP Mazembe-bound was not overly impressive but had a decent game.

Ghana will be seen as one of the favourite to win next year’s championship after placing fourth at the 2012 edition held in Gabon and Equitorial Guinea.
