Daniel Agyei wants Black Stars second chance

Liberty Professionals goalkeeper Daniel Agyei is confident of staging a return to the Black Stars.

The 24-year-old has returned to his boyhood club to revive his career after leaving South African side Free State Stars in just after a season.

The former Ghana youth shot-stopper has been frozen out of the Black Stars following concerns about his form.

Agyei was left out of the country’s 2014 World Cup squad and has not been involved in the qualifiers for the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco.

But the promising glovesman has set his eyes of staging a return to the team.

“I believe Ghanaians will see me in due course. I am training hard and picking up my form,” he said

“Like I have been saying to you, the pitch will do the talking for me.

“We’re just waiting patiently for the start of the league and everybody will see what I’m talking about.

“I have been in the Black Stars before and the agenda is to stage a return. I am working towards breaking into the team.”

Agyei must fend off competition from Adam Kwarasey, Stephen Adams, Fatau Dauda and Spain-based Razak Brimah to gatecrash the current squad.
