Klutse says Appiah must be given more time to build his squad

Ghana will train today in Port Elizabeth for Saturday’s third-place play play off against Mali at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium.

The Black Stars arrived in the Eastern Cape Province on Thursday afternoon after a disappointing penalty shootout semi-final defeat to Burkina Faso in Nelspruit.

The team did not train yesterday and will shake down today before head coach Kwesi Appiah decides on which players will play.

John Pantsil, who pulled a muscle in the semi-final clash against Burkina Faso, is an injury doubt.

Captain Asamoah Gyan, who had a swollen knee after Wednesday’s clash, might sit out the match.

Morale in camp is at its lowest ebb but the team need to pick themselves up for their final match of the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations.

The match against Mali is a repeat of what happened in Gabon and Equatorial Guinea last year where both teams played each other twice with the Eagles winning bronze

Is high time Marcel Desailly takes over because he have seen it all in football not appiah who couldn’t even win a contract I europe.Appiah was following 3 professional coaches but I now seen he didn’t learn anything there is nothing good in him to offer Ghana. He is not professional I hate him for bringing tribalism and hatred into the national team.

  6. FreshBoysInTheBuilding says:

PLEASE SACK THE COACH.. Gyan simply can’t captain Ghana.. We an inspirational, charismatic, forward thinker and a natural leader as a captain.. We dont need a singer, dancer to motivate players.. What the fuck is this??? OMG

    • Ayew says:

Totally agree. Gyan’s lack leadership skills and he is mentally suspect. It seems to me that the Ghanaian team is mentally weak and are unable to stand up and be counted when it matters: world cup 2010, Afcon 2012- semifinal and bronze medal game, and Afcon 2013 semifinal. Ghana needs psychological help because they have the talent to go all the way. They are turning out to be what Spain used to be before they became SPAIN!
