Elections for the chairmanship slot of the Eastern Regional Football Association on Friday was called off due to a court injunction.

The motion filed by second division side SC Hikari sought to halt the procedure until an appeal lodged against incumbent Lawal Abdul Ganiyu is duly exhausted.

Lawal had been accused of constituting his own delegates list for the elections but the Elections Committee of the Ghana Football Association earlier in the week cleared him off this charge and was set to contest Friday's elections until the injunction was served.

Meanwhile, there was a failed attempt to place a similar injunction on the Ashanti Region's elections as Osei Tutu Agyemang was retained unopposed.

However, Augustine Asante faced non of such problems as he was returned as Brong Ahafo's representative on the Executive Committee also unopposed.
