Emmanuel Agyemang-Badu says seeing the massive crowd enduring the rains on Tuesday gingered the Black Stars to record the resounding win over Egypt in the World Cup playoff.
Ghana has a firm footing towards their third successive World Cup qualification after inflicting a humiliating 6-1 win over the record African Cup winners even before the return encounter is played.
The Black Stars were impressive in all departments to bring joy and excitement to many Ghanaians currently faced with serious social and economic challenges.
And midfielder Agyemang-Badu says it was the least the team could do after seeing the massive turnout on Tuesday despite the earlier down pour.
“When we came out for warm up and saw the massive crowd enduring the rains just to support us, we were so motivated to do our best,” he told Peace FM.
“Sulley Muntari even told us in the dressing room we couldn’t disappoint the fans that have come and are standing in the rains to see us play.
“So we were very much fired up for this game and thankfully it all went well.”
