Tuesday, 26 January 2010

ImageGhana enterprising midfielder Opoku Agyemang has been cleared for Thursday's clash against rivals Nigeria in the last four of the African Nations Cup after reports that he will not be available due to cards accumulation.

News from the Ghana camp on Tuesday suggested the Qatar-based player was unqualified to play in the semi-final match after picking up his second yellow card in the tournament.

But cross by the Ghana FA revealed that cards picked up in the Group stage of the tournament have been scraped by the Caf as stipulated in the rules and regulations.

Head coach Milovan Rajevac at press conference explained he was prepared to start back-from-injury Anthony Annan because of Agyemang's situation.

Agyemang was booked in the match against Ivory Coast and was flashed in last Sunday's quarter-final clah against hosts Angola.
