Ex-Senegal international Moussa Badiane wants head coach Alain Giresse to sort out his personal issues with Demba Ba and include the striker his final AFCON squad.

There is a strained relationship between the two and there are reports the Frenchman will snub the Besiktas striker.

Ba has scored 8 goals in 11 Turkish Super League matches and third on the scorers chart this term.

Ahead of the announcement on Boxing Day, Badiane told RFM radio: “It would be unfortunate to make a Lions of Taranga squad without Demba Ba.”

“If Giresse has personal problems with the attacker, he must put the interest of Senegal first.”

Senegal open their AFCON campaign against Ghana on 19 January in Mongomo before playing South Africa and Algeria in Group C.

Ghana Football Association jabs King Faisal’s lawyer; insists Congress scheduled for Tuesday

The Ghana Football Association says it will go ahead to hold its Congress next Tuesday despite claims by King Faisal that the body would be charged for contempt of court if they do so.

King Faisal, whose injunction application was quashed on Monday by the Human Right Division of the High Court, claimed the FA needed to be granted permission by the court before they could congregate.

Lawyer Egbert Faibille Jnr told an Accra-based radio station that the Ghana FA would be a court order if they went ahead.

But opposite number has called his bluff and said Congress will come off as planned.

“With all due respect to my colleague, I disagree with his position and the Ghana Football Association has advised itself in terms of the latest ruling from the Human Rights Division of the High Court and we will proceed as we have decided to do,” Thaddeus Sory told Accra-based Joy FM.

“If we are in contempt, he knows what to do. He doesn’t file a contempt application on radio. He should go to court and file it. The GFA will come and defend it.

“If he knew he had an order for injunction endorsed on his writ, why did he go for an interlocutory order for injunction?

“So I’m telling you that there is no ground or whatsoever for any contempt application in court. He should go to court and stop it on radio.”

The Ghana Football Association’s Congress will be held at the Ghanaman Soccer Centre and that will usher in the 2014/2015 season.

The Ghana Premier League is set to start on 07 January.

Soccer Laduma had earlier reported that Khune could be drafted into the Bafana set-up, despite not playing for about four months.

Kevin-Prince Boateng could leave Schalke

German Bundesliga giants Schalke 04 could put Ghana international midfielder Kevin-Prince Boateng on transfer next summer due to bad performance, according to reports.

The 27-year-old has failed to live up to the billing since his arrival from AC Milan on a 10-million Euro transfer in 2012.

Boateng’s Schalke contract runs out in winter 2015 and the Royal Blues are prepared to allow him leave the club to his unimpressive performance and off-the field issues.

According to reports in Germany, Schalke fans feel Boateng has not given his best to the club since his arrival and the departure of Jens Keller and sporting director Horst Heldt would spell the end for the Ghanaian at the club.

He has been linked with a move to AS Monaco in the past but it is now unclear whether the club would still pursue their interest in signing him.

Ghana coach Avram Grant has chosen the Spanish city of Seville as the camping base for his team to prepare for the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations.

The former Chelsea manager has not explained his unpopular decision to camp in Europe where weather conditions are not similar to that of Mongomo, Ghana’s base in Equatorial Guinea for the tournament.

In the month of January, it is very cold in Seville at coldest at 52°F (11°C).

“The coach has had his request granted and the team will be based in the Spanish city of Seville,” Ghana FA Protocol Officer Alex Asante exclusively told GHANASoccernet.com

“The coach has connections there so he is making plans to play some games there that he will use to trim his side down.”

The Ghana Football Association had wanted the team to in Abu Dhabi, UAE before the tournament.
