 Essien is gunning for the PFA award Premier League leaders Chelsea are dominating November's PFA fans' player of the month, with three players in contention. Blues trio John Terry, Nicolas Anelka, and Michael Essien helped their team to maintain a five-point lead at the top of the Premier league on Saturday. They ran riot at home against Wolverhampton Wanderers, winning 4-0, with Essien grabbing two in ten minutes. Fabregas, though, will be aiming to nick the award again this month ahead of his London rivals. October Fans' Player of the Month Cesc Fabregas is putting up quite a scrap to retain his Premier League title as November draws to a close. The Arsenal skipper continues to inspire his team, both as a leader and a midfield creator, and it is hard to believe he is still only 22. The Spaniard has been in mesmeric form this month, scoring three goals in three games. The Arsenal man is joined by team-mate Andrey Arshavin who is also in the race for the gong. Darren Bent cannot stop scoring at the moment, having scored nine this campaign already this season. The Black Cats striker will be looking to inflict more pain on the Gunners by winning the trophy, having clinched the winning goal at home to Arsenal on Saturday. Recent father and England star Wayne Rooney will be looking to pick up the November award, having played an instrumental role in Manchester United's 3-0 win against his old club Everton on Saturday.
