The 23-year-old who is owedfor the month of October has played down reports he has given thefive-time African champions a two-day ultimatum.
Ayewjoined Zamalek last summer from Sekondi Eleven Wise on a five-year-dealand it is feared he might suffer a similar fate like compatriot JuniorAgogo.
"Ihave never spoken of my intention to quit or abrogate my contract," Ayew told Ghanasoccernet.com
"Itried to seek more explanation from the journalist who wrote the storybut I wasn't successful but the bottom of the matter is that I will notquit Zamalek.
"Some ofthese things happen and in recently Laryea Kingston's club had the sameproblem and I think we have to get something clear, I don't want toquit the club.
"I'm a professional and am keeping my focus of playing for the club andnot to be distracted by such calls. Only time will tell and I know whatat stake in my career." Ayew has scored a goal in five appearances for Zamalek who are struggling to find their feet in the Egyptian Premier League. |
