Embattled former Asante Kotoko Chief Executive Officer is on bail after his arrest on Monday by the Ashanti Regional CID.

It is believed that his arrest was in connection with the Baba Yara Stadium disaster last February in which four football fans died.

Asare Owusu was indicted by a committee of enquiry for his role in the overcrowding incidence during the Asante Kotoko-Hearts match on 08 February. 

He is to serve a five-year ban from the sport and he is to be prosecuted for allegedly stealing gate proceeds .

The Asare Owusu-led management team was sacked by the club's Life Patron Otumfuo Osei II last Saturday.
