MIDDENDORP ON ANOTHER RESCUE MISSION? Ghanaian Premier League side, AshantiGold, have resorted to German trainer Ernst Middendorp after head coach Momo Medic left the club for medical treatment in Serbia.
Middendorp who has had stints with Kotoko and Hearts of Oak will partner assistant coach Evans Adotey in Wednesday's league match against Kotoko in Kumasi.
The Miners have describe Middendorp's stay with the club as "coincidental" following Ralf Zumdick's end of stay and Medic's ill-health.
He is expected to hold a meeting with the technical bench and the playing body on Monday.
"Middendorp has been consistently advising us on how to restructure the dormant AshantiGold Academy as well as technical direction of the club and he is here to see things first hand," A statement on the club's website read.
"We can tell for how long Momo will be out but you know he had adopted a specific style of play that seems to be helping them," Chief Executive Herbert Mensah told Ghanasoccernet.com
AshantiGold made a blissful start to their league campaign after thrashing Real Tamale United 4-1 at home to go top of the league chart.
