Ghana will release a list of 31-players as the provisional squad for the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations which sees Samuel Inkoom make a return to the Black Stars since the 2014 World Cup.
Inkoom, 25, is one of the surprise names in Avram Grant's first call up since being installed as the new head coach of the Black Stars last m0nth.
The right-back will be considered not to have earned his place in the squad having made just six appearances for DC United in all competitions since moving to the MLS in September.
Grant however has other ideas - the Israeli wants to give opportunities to several available Ghanaian players to make a case for their selection into his final squad that is expected to only 'do well' at January's tournament to be staged in Equatorial Guinea.
Inkoom who has recently been traded to Houston Dynamo has not been involved with the Black Stars since making the final roster for the 2014 World Cup.
He however failed to play a single game as Ghana crashed out early from the tournament hosted by Brazil.
He will join the likes of Daniel Amartey and Ibrahim Moro as the surprise names on Grant's provisional squad.
The former FC Basel man will look to impress on his return to the team to prove he is not quite finished with his young career as many believe especially after his move to the MLS.
Others will however feel Inkoom's invite is a place wasted by Grant with other players in his position playing more regularly in competitive leagues in Europe.
