Confirmed: GHALCA Top 4 Tournament canceled

GHALCA Chairman Alhaji Ali Raji

This year’s Top 4 tournament has been canceled, GHALCA officials have confirmed.

The annual tournament has been canceled due to the unavailability of venues and also due to the closeness of the start of the new Ghana Premier League season.

Organizers, GHALCA however say the cancelation will offer them an opportunity to plan next year’s event better.

“We had to let it go because we received a letter from the National Sports Council indicating the unavailability of the stadium due to some undergoing works,” Executive Member of GHALCA Albert Commey said.

“There is also the issue of the tightness of the calendar with respect to the start of the Premier League and the preceding (GFA) ordinary congress session.

“So we decided to let it go this year to give us ample time to prepare for next year.”

This year’s event would have been contested by Asante Kotoko, AshantiGold, Hearts of Oak and Medeama SC.
