Kwadwo Asamoah's top-drawer for Juventus against Fiorentina in the Serie A was the headline for Ghanaian players abroad while Abdul Majeed Waris inspired Valenciennes to a 2-1 win over John Boye's Stade Rennes on Saturday night. 

Abdul Aziz Tetteh got on target for Platanias in Greece as well as Nana Akwasi Asare who scored his second goal in two weeks running for KAA Gent in Belgium.

FRANCE

Black Stars striker Abdul Majeed Waris set up Mathieu Dossevi in the 54th minute and scored in the 77th minute to help Valenciennes post a 2-1 win over Stade Rennes in the Ligue 1 on Saturday. Defender John Boye came off the Rennes bench in the 78th minute to replace Cameroonian Jean Makoun.

Attacker Jordan Ayew was sent off in the 84th minute during Sochaux's 2-1 reverse at AS Monaco.

Jonathan Mensah dropped to the Evian TG bench and was not involved in action for them when they beat Guingamp 1-0.

On Friday, Andre Ayew suffered a head injury and left the field of play after just 44 minutes as OG Nice beat his Olympique Marseille side 1-0 at the Stade Velodrome. Youngster Kevin Osei failed to make the Marseille first team squad.

In the Ligue 2, Lens cut Metz's point gap at the summit of the table when they beat them 1-0 at their own backyard on Friday night. Striker Kwame Nsor is still out nursing an injury and could not play for Metz.

AS Monaco loanee Dennis Appiah was at the heart of defence for Caen who held Le Havre to a 1-1 drawn game at the Stade Océane.

BELGIUM

Former Liberty Professionals youngster Eugene Ansah came off the bench to replace Moroccan Hamdi Harbaoui when his Lokeren side shared the spoils with Waasland-Beveren in a 0-0 drawn tie.

Nana Akwasi Asare lasted 73 minutes and scored the first goal in the 25th minute for KAA Gent who posted a comfortable 4-1 win over Cercle Brugge.

Relegation-trapped OH Leuven did the unthinkable by beating Anderlecht 1-0 on Saturday. Ghana winger Frank Acheampong missed the game with injury.

Enock Adu Kofi conspicuously missed out of the Club Brugge team which drew 1-1 with Zulte-Waregem at the Regenboogstadion.

Former Heart of Lions midfielder Abraham Kudemor came off the bench with three minutes left to play as his Sporting Charleroi side split points with Lierse SK in a 1-1 drawn game.

Daniel Opare lost his place as an automatic starter at Standard Liege as he warmed the bench in their 2-0 triumph over KV Mechelen. While Opare was on the bench, French-born Ghanaian defender Jerry Vandam played in central defence for Mechelen but Abdul Yakinu-Iddi still missed with injury.

Midfielder Bennard Kumordzi lasted the entire 90 minutes for KRC Genk who restored their winning run with a 3-1 thrashing of bottom-placed Mons.

In the Second Division, midfielder Stephen Asamoah played 90 minutes and helped AS Eupen to a post a 1-0 win over Tubize.

Genk loanee Marvin Ofori-Appiah was in full-time action for Dessel Sport when they lost 3-0 to Westerlo.

GERMANY

Kevin-Prince Boateng set up Nigerian Chinedu Obasi to score the third goal for Schalke 04 who hammered TSG Hoffenheim 4-0 in the Bundesliga. Former Black Stars regular Anthony Annan returned to the Schalke 18-man squad but was unused by manager Jens Keller in the game.

Karim Bellarabi set up the second goal for Eintracht Braunschweig who held VfL Stuttgart to a 2-2 drawn game. He lasted the entire 90 minutes.

In the Bundesliga II, youngster Reagy Ofosu could not make the Ingolstadt squad for the game when they drew 1-1 at Union Berlin.

Marcel Appiah helped Arminia Bielefeld to humble Aue 1-0 on Saturday.

In the Liga 3, Jeff Gyasi was booked in the 51st minute and played the entire 90 minutes for Elversberg who beat Rot-Weiß Erfurt 2-0. Fredrick Kyereh missed the game with injury.

Randy Edwini-Bonsu came off the bench to score the only goal of the game for Stuttgarter Kickers when they beat Regensburg 1-0.

Evans Owusu Nyarko was in full-time action for Borussia Dortmund II when Hansa Rostock beat them 1-0 on Sunday.

ENGLAND

Derek Boateng could not make the Fulham squad for their trip to Cardiff City which they lost 3-1.

In the Championship, youngster Koby Arthur could not make the Birmingham City squad for their 2-0 home loss to Queens Park Rangers.

Albert Adomah was not in the Middlesbrough team which beat Ipswich Town 2-0.

Emmanuel Frimpong came off the Barnsley bench in the 77th minute to help them beat Nottingham Forest 1-0 on Saturday.

In the League Two, Hiram Boateng warmed the bench for Crawley Town who lost 1-0 at Gillingham.

Former Liverpool youngster David Amoo played the entire 90 minutes for Carlisle United who lost 1-0 against Port Vale.

Former Manchester City youth team player Curtis Obeng scored an own-goal but played full-time for Stevenage who beat Tranmere Rovers 3-1. Patrick Agyemang was unused as he warned the bench for the entire duration of the game.

SWEDEN

David Accam scored the third goal for Helsingborg IF in their 5-0 drubbing of Torslanda in the Swedish Cup. Ema Boateng played 79 minutes minute the game for Helsingborg.

Nasiru Mohammed came off the bench in the 61st minute to play for BK Hacken in their 4-1 triumph over Sandviken.

Thomas Boakye was in action for Östersunds FK who lost 5-2 to Oster.

NETHERLANDS

AZ Alkmaar condemned ten-man Heracles Almelo to a 4-0 defeat. Kwame Quansah came off the bench in 21st minute to replaced injured team-mate Veldmate. Matthew Amoah was unused while Edwin Gyasi was not in the Heracles team.

Fred Benson played the entire 90 minutes for PEC Zwolle who were hammered 3-0 by Heereveen.

Christian Atsu set up the second goal for Vitesse Arnhem in their 2-1 win over NAC Breda on Saturday. Atsu was replaced in the 61st minute while Dutch-born Jeffrey Sarpong was brought on in the 35th minute.

Mitch Apau was at the heart of defence for RKC Waalwijk when they drew 1-1 with ADO Den Haag.

Go Ahead Eagles eased past FC Twente 1-0 to move to 11th place. Shadragh Eghan was not in the Twente team but Kwadjo Amevor sat on the Eagles bench.

In the Eerste Divisie, Swedish-born striker Patrick Amoah came off the bench to score the equaliser for Fortuna Sittard in their 2-2 drawn game with Excelsior.

Striker Jonathan Opoku could not score for Oss who lost 2-1 at Willem II.

Dutch-born defender Kevin Tete was booked and played the entire 90 minutes of the game for Jong Ajax who beat Almere City 3-0.

Former Valencia team B winger Erixon Danso played the full 90 minutes for Dordrecht when they drew 3-3 with Volendam on Saturday.

ITALY

Black Stars midfielder Kwadwo Asamoah scored a classy match-winner for Juventus as they beat Fiorentina 1-0 in the Serie A on Sunday.

Michael Essien and Sulley Muntari both played for AC Milan but they succumbed to a 1-0 defeat to Udinese at the Stadio Communale Fruili. Emmanuel Agyemang-Badu came off the bench in the 85th minute to play for Udinese.

Alfred Duncan warmed the bench for Livorno when Sampdoria hammered them 4-2 on Sunday.

Genoa slipped to a 2-1 loss against Chievo Verona on Sunday. Midfielder Isaac Cofie came off the bench in the 46th minute to play for Genoa.

Afriyie Acquah came off the bench to play the last 7 minutes of the game for Parma who cruised to a 2-0 win over Hellas Verona. Youngster Godfred Donsah was not in the Verona team.

Raman Chibsah played the entire 90 minutes for Sassuolo who held Bologna to a 0-0 drawn game.

Striker Emmanuel Gyasi was on the Torino bench when they suffered a narrow 1-0 defeat to Inter Milan at the Giuseppe Meazza.

Kingsley Boateng was unused substitute by Catania who were held to a 1-1 draw by Cagliari.

In the Serie B, Fiorentina loanee Maxwell Acosty came off the bench to play the last 11 minutes for Carpi who lost 3-0 against Reggina.

Moro Al-Hassan warmed the bench for Cesena who suffered a 2-0 loss against Pescara.

Amidu Salifu played the full 90 minutes of the game for Modena when they held Padova to a 2-2 drawn game on Saturday.

In the Lega Pro 2, youngster Davis Mensah came off the bench to play for Virtus Verona who slipped to a 3-0 home loss to Delta Porto Tolle.

SWITZERLAND

Young Boys slipped further to third place after succumbing to a 3-1 home defeat to FC Zurich. Former Hearts of Oak attacker Samuel Afum came off the bench in the 86th minute to play for Young Boys.

FC Sion recorded their second straight win after beating Luzern 3-2. Winger Ishmael Yartey was unused in the game and on the Sion bench but young striker Ebenezer Assifuah could not return in time from injury to play for Sion.

In the Challenge League, Swiss-born Ghanaian Kofi Ntiamoah Nimeley played full time for Locarno when they suffered a 1-0 away loss to FC Servette.

AUSTRIA

Black Stars center-back Isaac Vorsah is still out with injury and watched from the screen when his Red Bull Salzburg side hammered Ried 3-1.

TURKEY

Black Stars defender Jerry Akaminko played at the heart of defence for Eski?ehirspor who suffered a 1-0 away loss to Be?ikta?.

In the Lig 1, Balikesirspor managed a 2-0 away win over Bucaspor. Ghana goalkeeper Richard Kingson manned the post for Balikesirspor but striker Kwame Amponsah-Karikari could not return in time from injury to play for Bali.

Former AshGold striker Shaibu Yakubu lasted 76 minutes for 1461 Trabzon who lost 3-1 against leaders Ankaraspor. Torric Jebril was not in the Trabzon team.

Emmanuel Banahene came off the bench in the 56th minute to mark his return from injury for Sanliurfaspor who lost 1-0 to Gaziantep BB.

GREECE

Aziz Tetteh scored a 26th minute consolation goal for Platanias who lost 3-1 against Apollon Smirnis. Samuel Inkoom lost his automatic starting spot and warmed the bench throughout the game.

PORTUGAL

Haminu Dramani was not in the Gil Vicente team that defeated ten-man Paços de Ferreira 2-0 on Sunday in the top-flight.

In the Liga de Honra, on loan Rio Ave midfielder Alhassan Wakaso played 90 minutes for Portimonense who managed a 0-0 draw against Desportivo Aves with ten men.

SOUTH AFRICA

Ghana defender Rashid Sumaila completed the entire 90 minutes of the game for Mamelodi Sundowns who beat AmaZulu 2-0 on Saturday. Midfielder John Arwuah also played 90 minutes for AmaZulu.

Fatau Dauda warmed the bench for Orlando Pirates when Pretoria University beat them 1-0 on Saturday afternoon.

Abdul Basit was on the only Ghanaian in the Free State Stars team when they drew 1-1 with Ajax Cape Town.

USA

In the Major Soccer League, 2011 Ghana U20 midfielder Gershon Kwoffie sat on the bench for Vancouver Whitecaps who trounced New York Red Bull 4-1.

Kofi Sarkodie played the entire 90 minutes of the game for Houston Dynamo when they beat New England Revolution 4-0.

Khalif Alhassan came off the bench to play for Portland Timbers in their 1-1 drawn tie with Philadelphia Union.

Chivas USA sneaked past Chicago Fire after beating them 3-2. Ghanaian pair of Patrick Nyarko and Quincy Amarikwa played the entire 90 minutes of the game for Fire.

ROMANIA

Sulley Muniru was not in the CFR Cluj team when Steaua Bucure?ti defeated them 1-0 at their own backyard.

RUSSIA

Wakaso Mubarah warmed the bench for Rubin Kazan in their 1-0 away loss to Anzhi in the Russian Premier League.
